Snipes returns as Blade, the Marvel Comics character he vividly brought to
life in the 1998 hit film of the same name. The blood coursing
through Blade's veins is half-human, half-vampire, the result of a vampire
attack on his mother before he was born. "Blade's one of a kind,"
says Snipes, who also serves as one of the film's producers. "He has
all the strengths of vampires but none of their weaknesses. His
world is filled with the vampires he hates and his quest in life and
purpose for living is to rid the world of them, wherever he can find
them."
