Cane Swords
Cane Swords also called swordsticks, are basically a walking cane incorporating a concealed blade inside. Historically, the term is typically used to describe European weapons from around the 18th century, recognized as a self defense weapon for refined gentleman and their duels. They were a popular fashion accessory for the wealthy back in those days, and in their era of brutality and elegance it was simply considered prudent to carry one. Similar devices have been used throughout history. Notably the Japanese shikomizue and the Ancient Roman dolon. Nowadays, they are basically a decorative novelty, adorned with emblems of dragons, snakes, skulls, or whatever else you can imagine.
In the cane swords below, you will see some of the popular models. These beautiful examples are approximately 36" long overall length and feature a stainless steel blade hidden inside approximately 13" to 17" in length. They actually make a great sturdy cane!
